Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made on behalf of Carpet Cleaning Chelsea. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting our business ethically, transparently, and in full respect of human rights.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Carpet Cleaning Chelsea provides professional carpet and upholstery cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. Our operations are primarily local, but our supply chains may extend beyond the United Kingdom through the sourcing of machinery, cleaning products, equipment, and other materials used in our services.
We recognise that modern slavery can occur in any country and sector, and we acknowledge our responsibility to identify, prevent, and address risks in all areas where we operate or procure goods and services.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Carpet Cleaning Chelsea has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation. We do not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in such practices, and we expect the same commitment from all parties with whom we work.
This zero-tolerance stance applies to our own staff, temporary workers, contractors, and every tier of our supply chain. Any confirmed breach of this policy will lead to decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and further remedial measures as appropriate.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We work to ensure that our suppliers share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our due diligence procedures, we assess new and existing suppliers against ethical and labour standards before and during our commercial relationships.
Where proportionate to the size and risk level of a supplier, we may conduct audits or request evidence of their own modern slavery policies, training programmes, and compliance measures. We prioritise suppliers that can demonstrate responsible sourcing, clear worker protections, and effective grievance mechanisms.
If a supplier is unable or unwilling to meet our expectations on modern slavery and human rights, we will take steps to mitigate the risk, which may include enhanced monitoring, corrective action plans, or discontinuation of the relationship.
Policies, Training, and Awareness
Our internal policies reinforce our commitment to fair treatment, safe working conditions, and respect for human rights. We communicate these expectations to our staff so they understand their responsibilities and the importance of reporting any concerns.
We aim to raise awareness of modern slavery indicators, such as signs of coercion, restriction of movement, withholding of identity documents, or excessive working hours under threat. Where relevant, staff are provided with guidance on how to identify potential issues and escalate them appropriately.
Reporting Channels and Escalation
Carpet Cleaning Chelsea encourages the reporting of any concerns related to modern slavery, whether within our own operations or in our supply chains. Concerns can be raised confidentially with a manager or senior member of the business, or through any established internal reporting process that may be in place from time to time.
We will take all reports seriously, investigate them promptly and sensitively, and take appropriate action where necessary. We are committed to ensuring that no one who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that addressing modern slavery risks requires ongoing vigilance and continuous improvement. Carpet Cleaning Chelsea will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if there are significant changes in our business operations, supply chains, or relevant legislation.
As part of the annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our measures, consider feedback from stakeholders, and identify opportunities to strengthen our policies, training, due diligence and supplier engagement. Where improvements are identified, we will implement them and update this statement accordingly.
This statement has been approved by the management of Carpet Cleaning Chelsea and represents our current position and commitments regarding the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
